My second presentation

    During my second public speaking I have used some of the techniques from the section of Jump start of the presentation and Finish with a bang. As far as technique to start the presentation I used:

1. What’s in it for me?

2. Meet the people

3. Quotations

4. Enrolment questions

    And what about the new technique Finish with a bang. I had some interesting approach to ending my presentation. I think it had good effect on the mood of the audience. 

   

    And now I can say about something that was positive for me. I have identified three aspects:

1. The chosen theme of the presentation

2. Preparation for presentation

3. The mood of the audience

   

    The presentation was given on the free theme so I could choose what is interesting for me. Therefore it has become India, which is a country with a colorful culture and rich history.

    I think that I am a creative person so I approached creatively to the preparation of the full presentation and especially Finish with a bang. I liked such interesting approach and the most important that the audience have liked it too. Gifts that I have prepared for the students were very pleased to them, and it raised the mood of the audience and allowed me to finish my presentation dignity.

    I think the thing that will always demand better is not afraid to speak to public. People say that if you more do something, you begin to do it better. But I think it does not apply to the mental state of person. In fact speak to public is always difficult no matter how many times you did any presentation. So I could perform better with regard to confidence to public. It has me to improve all the time performing with the presentation.

    Basically everything that I had planned I was able to carry out. But the only one problem was the lack of some students of our group. I was handing out leaflets in the end which were designed for all students of our group. So because of the lack of some students the end was successful but not at full strength. 

    As for me the main targets of using some new technique are:

1. To bring pleasure to the audience of your performance, defuse the situation among listeners

2. To remain in the memory of the audience, in any way just to leave a good impression of the performance and to show that you care about the opinion of the audience.

My first presentation

    Creating my first presentation has brought me a lot of fun but the most importantly is experience. These things I identify as the most positive of the presentation. I am also pleased that the topic of my presentation is related with the sphere of my future profession, and so now I have become more aware in my future work. I had reported this information to my classmates, and I think it was also interesting and important to them.

    The major mistake of my first presentation was wrong creating a computer presentation. It slides containing text that distract the audience and the color of it was unreadable. This mistake is the reason for working and developing my public speaking.

    The one thing that was not in my speech is pauses. I said quickly without pauses. It could serve that the audience did not take my report and I have to correct this defect of pauses during the next presentation.

    And what about my next full presentation. People learn from their mistakes. So speaking next time I would like to

    1. overcome my emotion;

   2. distract the audience from the computer presentation, drawing particular attention to its creation.

Something about presentation

    First of all I want to say about myself. I am a very sociable person. So it is very important to me to have an interlocutor. My future profession requires constant communication. It actually is to constantly talk to people and find contact with them. So I think that the presentation gives me the opportunity to communicate with foreign colleagues. Another reason why presentation is very important to my profession is a chance to know more necessary information from different branches of law, for example international law. And final advantage of presentations, but not the last, is an opportunity to present law of our country abroad and hold discussions with lawyers from different countries.

    Preparing the presentation gives you the opportunity to better understand the subject that you have prepared. If you worked hard on preparing you easily cope with the presentation and bring its essence to the audience. So you become more knowledgeable in this matter. I enjoy being in the spotlight and speak to the audience which is also an advantage for me of the presentation. And the last one is my liking to discuss various topics with people and the presentation gives me this chance.

    Speaking to the audience is always scary for me. Because you're always afraid that something might go wrong and you're afraid of getting lost on the stage. If you want that presentation will held at a high level you need to spend a lot of time to prepare and develop it. If something goes wrong you want to quickly navigate and get out of the situation. You have to speak well in English to know what to say in this situation. So that’s why presentation in English is problematic for me.

    And the last one I want to say it is about targets in presenting in English. I have highlighted six targets:

1. I would like to improve the speed of my speech. So I must know well the language and lexical material of English. 

2. I want to communicate more.

3. I want to stop being afraid to speak to the audience.

4. I want to be more knowledgeable in the law, so in the area of my future profession. 

5. I want to inform the audience and introducing them to the topic of my speech. 

6. I want to show and prove myself as a specialist in different areas of law and experienced hard-working person. 

I hope all this targets I can implement with the help of preparing presentation and speech with it to the audience.
